Obviously I am missing some data, either because I haven't upgraded to that level or didn't write it down when I did so. But the trends are clear in terms of most cost effective.

In first place are all your Catapults and Sentries, I'm not including the Level 1 Wall because you begin the game with it. Following that are all your Castle Defence Units outside your castle walls. The best part of those units is that they can upgrade, all the way to the Red Dragon. Finally after those is a Castle Skin (purchasable through the Black Market) and only then should you look at upgrading your Sentry/Catapults and Castle Walls.

Tips:
Build your Sentry/Catapults First.
Don't pay for upgrades unless you are a wallet warrior.
Build your defence units when you get a quest from Amelia to do so, the value of the reward can be greater than the cost of the Unit.

  1. One question
    If I take a 4000 saphir skin, like ranhold, the 5000 saphir skin will cost 1000 saphir or 5000 saphir?

    1. G'day Batfly,
      This isn't something I have tested, although based on having a 5000 sapphire skin and both 4000 and 5000 alternative skins still costing those prices I expect that you willneed to pay full price for them. Better to save for 1 or 2 weeks to get those extra 1000 sapphires.

      Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  2. What's the benefits of castles defense? compared to just having say 50 nomads and barbarians and 150 archers and dwarfs on the lawn. All at lvl 20.

    1. G'Day Eric,
      A castle's defences has 3 benefits;
      1) The 'immortal units' recover in 2 hours or less, this means they are a better long term investment than recovering units through the infirmary.
      2) The 'immortal units' act as normal units meaning they contribute to your defence even if you don't have any other units outside your castle.
      3) Your 'immortal' units and your fixed defences (walls, catapults and sentries) combine to provide a fixed multiplier to your defence at a rate of 100 defence - 1%. So having 5000 defence will increase the effectiveness of your defensive units by 50%.

      Hope this helps.

  3. After talking to some people i got this answer. It's straight number for each defense structure plus 10% per 100. 10,000 castle defense gives 100% bonus, doubling your defense value
