Show me the Power!

The obelisk of power shouldn't require too much explanation so this should be a short post.

What is the Obelisk of Power? It is an in-game building that allows players to further customise their playstyle.

How does it work? By applying Skull Runes to the various abilities. Most abilities have pre-requisites, typically 8 or 10 points in the preceding ability.

What abilities are there? Training speed boosts and travel speed boosts are your most common, and they exist for every unit that you can build. Some abilities grant additional raids, a extra settlement or can lower the cost of upkeep or unit darkening and one ability can increase the amount of experience you gain from combat.

What do I choose? That is entirely up to you. There are some abilities that are better than others. In mid to late game you'll find your food upkeep gets expensive so you might want to put points there or you might want to speed up those long Lost Art levels so you can get them all done faster. I wouldn't be in a rush to put too many points into the speed of your slowest units (pikemen and dwarfs) as a 12.5% increase on a 1 km/h unit doesn't make an appreciable impact compared with the 2 km/h speed of your next slowest units, you're still nearly doubling the travel time.

What if I put points in the wrong thing? Don't worry, you will get more points later on and if you think you have messed up really badly then you can always change it. Note that after the first Edit you will have to pay sapphires. So think long term about what you put points into.

How do I change it? By tapping on the edit button. That allows you to remove points from any abilities up to the minimum required should it be a pre-requisite for anything else you already have points in. Once you have removed the points they will be available for you to use as normal (including having to spend the time applying them to an ability).
